Just an update

Guess it's time for an update... We haven't been doing much lately, especially when concerning writing, due to Rory's missing finger tips. Good news is that they're almost grown back now, he just has scabs on the ends now, so he'll be back playing and writing in no time.

Anyone interested in a free track should go here:

We're on this months Atrocious Records' downloadable compilation with a bunch of bands with names such as:
Hung With His Own Intestines, Brainspewer and Cum Sock

I wonder if they're actually being serious with names like that... anyway, our track is in the link below, enjoy.

Booking for tour seems to be going well, a lot of interest but only a few 100% confirmed dates. Check our myspace for updates on shows, and message us on there or here: jake_kent@hotmail.co.uk if you can help us out.

We have some awesome shows coming up in the UK April/May/June time - screw your exams and revision and come and see us, again the dates and flyers are on our page. You can also find a new track on our page, it's off the Ding Dong Dead split, enjoy

grind...

...ground

We've been brief with people asking about this little bad man. Our boy Rory is a furniture maker and yesterday (Wed March 4th) he was pushing some wood through a planer when it snapped and dug in. The piece that snapped off fired off into the ceiling and the piece that dug in forced his fingers into the blade. Blood, blood, blood.

This means the man won't be playing guitar for a couple of shows, we are not putting out of any shows though. March 11th, Leicester with the amazing Diet Pills and March 14th, Stoke-on-Trent. Flyers are on our page: www.myspace.com/mobydickuk

Are you cold, you look cold

I have nothing to do accept write an essay on dystopian societies, an update is as good of a distraction as any. Lately I've been churning out artwork like crazy, trying to get something good enough to put onto some shirts for you ingrates out there. It seems every time I do something I think it's brilliant until I look at it a second time and it's awful; I'll get there in the end though. Anything worth showing, I'll put up on here in a week or so.

In other news, the last three tracks we've written have turned out really well. I say three, it's more like two and a half. They're called "These fangs", "Visible ghosts" and "What am I going to do with all these virgins?" - it's true to say I loving giving bad titles to serious songs. I glad writing is going well because we have plenty of releases planned, some of which already have tracks selected for anyway. We have a split 7" with Wales barbarians Bastions, a four way split CD and tape with Achzavoth, Suckinim Baenaim and The Brave Do Not Fear The Grave, a limited tour split with Call Me Betty and hopefully our own EP/mini album.

Finally, for this post - if you've managed to get this far:

Our friends Bastions have their 1st EP up for download, snap it up here.

And Holy Roar Records have an awesome download Spring Sampler 09. Of course we don't feature on this comp' but the bands on it are brilliant, hopefully HR won't mind us putting this link up. Enjoy.

Contact us via myspace or at jake_kent@hotmail.co.uk if you're interested in helping with any of our upcoming releases, or you're HR and want that link off...

I split on your grave

Ding Dong Dead/ Moby-Dick Split is finally here. Out on my own 'Power Negi Records' it contains 10 tracks in total, 5 each of course. In lovingly made card cases, hand numbered and limited to 100 copies. It is available to the world here at the low low price of £4. This is little more than you'd expect to pay for a bottle of Corona, so instead of wasting your money on that, buy this instead. We would like to thank everyone invovled especially our good friends Ding Dong Dead.

Here's what the final product looks like

Stay Negative

Feb 7th/8th weekend, Leeds and Wakefield was amazing. Thanks to the people that put us on, bands we played with: Magpyes, Esclavage, and that other super fast band. Thanks Matt for letting us stay in your flat, Lewis, Lewis Agro, and Negi Rob.
To cut a long story about a good weekend:
Big savings, double big savings, triple big savings, Anton Rough, Leeds, deathcrush, pizza. special brew, sleeping on ironing boards, chocolate stealing, one way systems, mosh and vans store...

Refreshment is sweet

First of all, sat' nav's are genius, no stressing and trying to read maps like before, all in all, a good investment.
Doncaster, Doncaster, Doncaster, we play faster... than any band you've seen at the vintage rock bar in over a year, surely. I don't think many people at the show knew how to have fun either. Bit of a let down that the mighty Errander didn't turn up, we were looking forward to them.

Fent man decided to snap a string after one song, no one had a guitar to lend, and it would take a while to re-string due to tuning locks etc. Thanks to Veils and Elias Last Day for looking for strings and tryina help us out, nice guys them lot. The solution unfortunatly was Max sitting out and Rory playing, not cool but still, Max 'brought the mosh' along with our good friend and Doncaster boy, Lewis. We ripped it up, played anton rough, busted out, broke mic's, instruments and got sore...

Not much more to say other than, this show totally refreshed the dick, we can't wait for our little tour in Europe with Call Me Betty. Expect tour T's, a split, and the ultimate compilation (aimed at promoting mainly UK bands) out on Power Negi, including Crocus, Trencher, Bastions, Manuscripts, Holy State and Silent Front; there's 22 bands confirmed so far. Call me a name dropper, I don't care.

Any upcoming shows and tiny bits of news can probably be found on our myspace

Progession

After messing around and not doing much the split with ding dong dead is almost here. I used the time I set aside to do work and pass exams, wise I know. We're going into the studio to do our vocal re-recordings and I need to get the disc face printed and that's it, it's ready!

Here's what the final thing should look like:

And will be available here. There should be many more releases coming out on power negi in the near future. I'll keep you posted.

Once this is sorted we'll be recording some more songs, there's about 7 we want to get done I think. They'll probably be appearing on some sort of release in the future.
